Mi perro tiene una hernia. Las hernias son muy comunes en nuestros perros y pueden ocasionar problemas que llegan a ser graves.
Mi perro tiene una hernia. Las hernias son procesos muy frecuentes en nuestros perros, tienen distintas localizaciones y pueden llegar a originar trastornos muy serios que pueden poner en peligro la vida de nuestros animales.
Ante todo debemos definir someramente lo que se conoce por hernia. Podríamos decir que es la salida completa o en parte de un órgano a través de un defecto parietal de la cavidad en la que se sitúa en condiciones normales.
Decíamos más arriba que las hernias pueden tener diferentes localizaciones pero nos vamos a centrar, sobre todo, en las hernias abdominales craneales, caudales y perineales.
Además de clasificar las hernias por su localización, también podemos hacerlo por su origen. Así tenemos las hernias congénitas, que son las originadas por un defecto de la pared que ya existe en el momento de nacer el perro, aunque a veces su aparición se produce pasado un tiempo. Estas hernias pueden tener un componente hereditario tal y como se ha comprobado en los estudios realizados.
Junto a las hernias congénitas tenemos las hernias adquiridas, que son aquellas en las que el defecto de la pared se va a producir después del nacimiento del perro y cuyo origen principal es el traumatismo externo producido de una forma repentina ( mordedura, atropello, etc.). En el caso de estas hernias adquiridas debido a un traumatismo, no debemos olvidar que la hernia es un problema, pero que también puede haber otras lesiones internas mucho más graves que la lesión de la pared corporal que ha originado la hernia.
Cuando el contenido de la hernia puede volver a recolocarse en su posición original, la hernia dice que es reducible. El hecho de que podamos reintroducir el contenido a su posición original no debe hacer que nos confiemos. En ocasiones puede pasar un órgano, tal como una porción intestinal, y quedar estrangulado por el anillo herniario. Al quedar el segmento intestinal estrangulado se dificulta la circulación y puede aparecer una lesión muy grave en ese fragmento de intestino, tanto que debe recurrirse a su extirpación de urgencia. Estas son las conocidas como hernias estranguladas.
En estos artículos hablaremos de las hernias más frecuentes en la clínica diaria y también mencionaremos otras que pueden resultar menos conocidas por los propietarios de los perros pero que también se presentan con relativa frecuencia. Así hablaremos de la hernia umbilical, inguinal y perineal con más detenimiento pues son las más fáciles de apreciar por los propietarios ya que se aprecian a simple vista y, en ocasiones, tienen un tamaño muy marcado.
Es muy importante tener siempre presente que la gravedad de una hernia no sólo depende de su tamaño pues, si se produce algún estrangulamiento de una víscera herniada, aunque el tamaño de la hernia sea muy pequeño, el proceso será muy grave.

saludos amigo… tengo un bulldog ingles de tres meses y tiene una pequeña bolita en su ombligo y en un principio era suabe pero en estos dias se torno dura… a pesar de eso el cachorro esta muy bien no a disminuido su peso…. quisiera saber si este problema podra pasarlos a sus crias heredara esta enfermedad??
